03/05/15

Kopin
Corporation
(NASDAQ:KOPN) a leading developer of innovative wearable
computing technologies and solutions, today announced the hiring of Mr.
Bill Maffucci as Vice President of Business Development focusing on
emerging applications in the defense market.

Mr. Maffucci is an industry veteran with more than 35 years of
experience working with defense contractors in a variety of display
applications with special emphasis on the development of head mounted
display systems. Bill’s background includes extensive experience in the
advanced development of displays, optics and ergonomic solutions for
avionic and dismounted soldier systems.

“Kopin has a long track record of success in supplying the US military
with displays and imaging systems for the most advanced soldier systems
in the world,” said Dr. John C.C. Fan, CEO. “Bill provides us with a
wealth of experience in heads-up display systems as we transition from a
display and imaging system supplier to developing and marketing full
systems. In addition, Bill’s experience with military heads-up systems
will assist us in our commercial Wearable system development efforts.”

Mr. Maffucci started working on head-up and head-mounted systems in 1983
with Kaiser Electronics and later became a Vice President for Kaiser
Electro-Optics and Senior Director, Display Systems for the Rockwell
Collins Government Systems Optronics Group. Mr. Maffucci was most
recently with Intevac Photonics after they acquired Creative Display
Systems, a display system company that Mr. Maffucci co-founded.

“Kopin has been the leading technology provider to the US military for
over 25 years. As the government replaces older generation weapon sight
and vision systems with new generation digital systems, there is an
opportunity for significant growth,” said Mr. Maffucci. “Kopin’s broad
product offerings, expertise in optical system assembly free of foreign
object and debis (FOD), and customer support capabilities position Kopin
very well for these new opportunities.”
