LOCATION: Westborough, MA
GENERAL FUNCTION:
The Material Logistics Coordinator is responsible for domestic and international shipping of products and receiving incoming goods, inventory control of stock room and consumable stock locations and other factory inventory. Assists with preparing finished products for shipment to customers. The Material Logistics Coordinator has an understanding of the supply chain, including common obstacles and effective solutions.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (All inclusive or a portion shall apply according to the assigned scope of responsibility and business unit.)
- Ships outgoing products as well as other packages for the company.
- Receives all incoming goods.
- Perform inventory transactions within the manufacturing system, including cycle counting, to ensure correct accounting of inventory and the ability of succeeding functions (AP, AR, and Planning) to properly assess and pay or bill for goods received or shipped.
- Issue materials to Production, inventory as required.
- Track shelf life and consistently use FIFO (First In, First Out) for issue of inventory items.
- Transact movements of inventory within the ERP system
- Aid in physical inventories when scheduled.
- Under guidance, may handle hazardous, temperature, and time sensitive materials.
- Under guidance, replenish and maintain Chemicals, using appropriate gowning and face shields, and replenish other consumable stores in the factory.
- Learn and understand the preparation of export documentation.
- Learn and understand Kopin’s compliance to known export and import laws.
- Learn and understand the use of the ACE system for regulatory compliance when exporting.
- Learn and understand the use of commercial shippers, i.e., Fed Ex, UPS, DHL, etc.
- Reviews shipment materials and collaborates with transportation shippers to ensure on-time pick-ups and deliveries.
- Backup for Material Logistics Coordinator III.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
REQUIRED: Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident. As a defense contractor Kopin is subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and you must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident (green card holder) to be considered for this position.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
- 3 years of shipping & receiving experience including international shipping.
- Experience using UPS, Fed-Ex systems.
- Able to use computer systems effectively, proficient with Microsoft Excel.
- High attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
- Requires standing and walking up to 80% of day and lifting 20 pounds unassisted.
- Requires material handling tasks which include lifting, bending, stretching, pushing and pulling.
- Able to work in a manufacturing environment and gown according to clean room protocol.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to rotate from sitting to standing, lift 20 pounds unassisted gown according to clean room protocol.
- Requires standing and walking up to 80% of day.
- Requires material handling tasks which include lifting, bending, stretching, pushing and pulling.
- Requires working in a manufacturing environment and requires gowning.
- Required to work outside at times and may be exposed to cold, hot and inclement weather.
